Kokopelli

Kokopelli is an online news publication produced by journalism and media studies students at New Mexico State University. Kokopelli provides a unique opportunity for advanced journalism students to produce a variety of multimedia story packages for publication on a weekly basis under the supervision of a faculty adviser. Students also have the ability to produce their own podcasts using Kokopelli's in-house digital podcasting studio.

Students cover breaking and general campus news including sports. Additional coverage beats include senior administration, student government, academics, and arts and entertainment. Students are also responsible for managing Kokopelli’s various social media channels.

Kokopelli provides an exciting opportunity for students to hone their reporting skills, publish their work, increase exposure and enhance their professional portfolios. Students enrolled in the capstone class also receive course credit for their work.

Kokopelli operates its own state-of-the-art newsroom equipped with iMac computers, Adobe software, podcasting studio and a variety of digital field equipment available for checkout by students.
