The multimedia journalism emphasis in the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at NMSU comprises hands-on writing and technology intensive courses including a capstone class where students work as staff reporters for Kokopelli, the department's own online student news publication.
Students sharpen their writing skills while also developing their ability to use video, still photography, audio and social media to communicate across a variety of digital media platforms.
Students see their work published online and have the opportunity to work in both the department's multimedia center and Kokopelli newsroom to produce a wide variety of story projects, podcasts and multimedia packages designed to inform, enlighten and engage discerning audiences in the digital age.
