Student Media
We Believe in Learning by Doing
Whether they're reporting live on-air, producing digital content, photographing events around Southern New Mexico, or building their portfolio in public relations and advertising, students put their skills to the test with real-world experience.
Real-world experience is key to success in media. That’s why we offer a range of hands-on opportunities, from our live award-winning student-produced newscast, News22, and our cutting-edge multimedia news website, CrimsonWire.org, to a soon-to-be-launched strategic communication agency. We also encourage internships and have a number of student clubs and organizations to help students connect. As a Journalism and Media Studies major, students build a professional network and have their work seen by audiences and utilized by clients—all before they graduate.
